Description

A me-tastic guide to successful collaboration! Many HubSpotters might be familiar with the 'Working With Me' document, but how can we use it in a fun and interactive way as a team? In this 60-minute session, your team will re-visit their colleague's answers and try to guess who said what in an interactive trivia game. A great way to review team preferences and ensure you are collaborating effectively, it can be easily adjusted for time or repeated often with different questions.

Facilitator Notes

This workshop does not require facilitator notes. Optional facilitator aids might include:

  • Mentimeter to collect answers
  • Bonus or back-up questions
  • Extra fun facts to share throughout the experience

Step-by-Step

  • Share the Working With Me document with your team in advance, and ask everyone to submit it before the workshop. If you have done this experience in the past with your team, ask them to update it if necessary.
  • To determine questions for the quiz, you can do one of the two following things:
    • Have team members select 3-5 things from their working with me template they'd like to share
    • randomly select answers yourself from the documents of your team members
  • Using the virtual trivia template, or a PDF or document you create yourself, make a list of the selected statements, leaving a blank space to be filled during the workshop next to each one.
  • If using Mentimeter to collect answers, set up the chosen statements as questions in advance.

Let your team know you'd like to spend some time reflecting on work styles and preferences of your colleagues in a fun way. Let them know you'll share the full Working With Me profiles with the entire team following the experience, but today you'll be testing your knowledge of your teammates. Ensure everyone this is a fun activity to get to know each other better, with no expectation that you should know all the answers.

  • If you have prepared the statements as a document, give your team 10 minutes to individually try and guess which team member made which statement, then go through your answers afterwards.
  • If using Mentimeter and the virtual template, work through the questions in real time.
  • Once each answer has been revealed, allow the person whose statement it was to offer more information or clarify their statement if they'd like.
  • Invite team members to ask the person who submitted that statement any questions they may have.
  • Include a round of identifying gifs/photos team members have chosen to represent themselves, any fun facts that stood out, or bonus questions for added fun!
  • Make sure to share the full Working With Me documents in a shared space and allow team members to learn more about each other.
  • Consider doing a trivia or reviewing sections of your Working With Me as a team on a regular basis, to continuously reflect on working preferences of team members
  • If your team wants to get more in-depth understanding of each other's preferences and tendencies, we recommend a DiSC or Clifton Strengths Facilitated Team Development experience.
