Give them the opportunity to consider in advance what they value most in the team, or share the categories on the canvas beforehand so team members can come with ideas.
- Some of these points might need further thought. Invite your team to re-visit the board after your experience to add more thoughts, or consider drafting the final statements in a follow-up experience.
- Depending on your team, you might consider sharing the Google Doc and allowing each person to complete their own canvas in advance, then discussing and collaborating on one canvas during the meeting.
- This can be a unique opportunity for managers to hear how their team interprets their work and the team as a whole. Avoid taking too much direction and let team members express how they would shape this Team Agreement.
- Re-visit your Team Agreement regularly, like during each Retrospective.
- Consider whether your team is living by the promises it as made to itself (and ask what others think).
