Change & Agile Mindsets

Workshop Goals

  • Determine how we are spending our energy in our daily lives
  • Understand how the use of our energy affects our performance
  • Reflect on whether we need to prioritise the use of energy differenty
  • Discuss and commit to actions to help improve on productivity and satisfaction in our daily routine

Description

Are your habits giving you energy, or draining it? Are you spending your energy on the things that matter most? Reflect on how we spend energy in different areas of our lives and how it affects our performance in this experience. Take time to discuss as a group, and build resilience by committing to changing unproductive routines. It's not just the number of hours we invest that determines the value we create, it's also the energy we bring to whatever hours we work.

What you'll need

Materials

For this workshop, you'll need:

  • A copy of the facilitator slide deck
  • The Resilience Vector Audit Workbook

Templates

Each team member will need to complete their own slide from this Resilience Vector Audit workbook

As facilitator, you will also need the slide deck to guide the experience.

Facilitator Notes

This workshop does not require extra facilitator notes. Facilitation tips can be found directly in the slide deck.

Step-by-Step

  • Make a copy of the necessary templates
  • If preferred, share the workbook in advance. Having participants complete the audit in advance will allow you to shorten the time required for the workshop, if necessary. A shared 'a-ha' moment might be lost if participants have already completed the questions, however.

Invite your team to an experience to discuss how resilient we are feeling. Let them know the experience will help to reflect on how we are spending our energy, and discussing this as a team can help boost our performance.

  • Be aware that this can be a valuable tool for teams or individuals experiencing a high level of stress, but it may also be a difficult topic to discuss if team members are feeling symptoms of burnout.
  • Some topics might feel personal to some participants. Encourage them to only share as much or as little as they feel comfortable with.
  • If time allows, consider adding time at the end to discuss how you can support each other as a team to stick to your priorities and ensure there is space to renew energy.
  • If team members are looking for more context on the idea of managing energy throughout the day, refer them to the Rethinking Resilience course offered by SkillSpot. This course offers a much more detailed look at building resilient habits and practices.
  • Suggest accountability partners to help your team stick to their goals.
  • Offer a deeper dive into the topic by referring your team to the Rethinking Resilience course offered by SkillSpot.
  • Consider making the Resilience Vector Audit semi-annual in your team, as a type of pulse check throughout the year.
