Description

What kind of team do you want to work on? Using the Team Agreement Canvas, guide a conversation with your team and collaboratively define what matters to you in key areas of success. Once you've got your ideas on the canvas, vote for agreement on the top ideas and work towards defining a set of 'rules' your team agrees to work by moving forward.

For this workshop, you'll need:

  • The Lucid template
  • Ideally, your team will have already completed the Values exercise and the Mission and Vision activity.

Use this Lucid template  for your session to work collaboratively.

You must first create your own copy of the template by hovering over the document name and selecting "duplicate".

Step-by-Step

This workshop was designed to be run for new entities, as part 3 of 4 workshops. We recommend completing the Values exercise, and the Mission and Vision activity, before this workshop. However, this is not a requirement. Any team can run this workshop as a stand-alone session as well. The activity here can also be found in the 'Hybrid Creatures' session, if you would like to run a more in-depth version.

  • We recommend completing the self-paced course Hybrid Habits before this workshop.
  • You must first create your own copy of the template by hovering over the document name and selecting "duplicate".

Let your team know you'd like to collaboratively define working methods for your team, which will help you achieve the high-level values and mission and vision you have previously defined together. In this session, you will consider Collaboration, Communication, Coordination, and Care, and agree on practices, habits, etc. in each of these four areas for how your team wishes to work moving forward.

  • Try to encourage more concrete answers in this workshop. What specific practices, tools, habits, etc. will help your team live their values and achieve your mission and vision? We want to start making practicable agreements at this stage and move away from vague answers.
  • Encourage lots of discussion around what items your team ends up agreeing on moving forward, and ensure its things that work for everyone on the team. 
  • Leave enough time at the end for a healthy conversation around your challenges. Make sure to end on a positive note, that sticking to your agreement will help overcome challenges.

 

  • Follow this workshop up with the Team Agreement Canvas.
  • If this workshop seemed too short and/or you believe your team could benefit from more honest conversations around the challenges of hybrid work, we recommend the Hybrid Creatures workshop.
  • Your team might wish to complete Working With Me documents to be even more specific about their communication preferences and the best ways to work with them as individuals.
