# Check a User Profile

The user's profile is akin to a HubSpot contact record - it contains key properties of the user.  Oftentimes, a user does not show up in an [Audience](https://learninganddevelopment.hubspot.com/learnhubspot/create-an-audience) because their user fields do not meet the Audience's rules. So, you will need to access a user's profile to cross-check the user's fields and the Audience's rule sets.

### Check a User Profile

 1. In Learn@HubSpot, click the **settings gear icon ![settings gear icon](https://learninganddevelopment.hubspot.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Totara%20LMS%20Training/settings%20gear%20icon.png?width=20&name=settings%20gear%20icon.png)** in the top right corner, then click **Users**.

**Please note:** you can also navigate to **Users **by selecting it from the** Site Administration **menu > **Users** > **Browse list of users** on the left sidebar menu found on any course page. 

2. Search for the user you want to check.

3. Click the user's name to open and view their profile.
